Testing and analysis of the Blaupunkt AMP4000D
It’s no secret that Blaupunkt amps are cheap, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t a solid purchase depending on your system. Available online from us at qualitymobilevideo.com and in Walmart stores, these won’t break the bank and offer very solid performance. The AMP4000D is a monoblock amplifier coming under $150 and boasts some serious power that we’ll test ourselves in a few minutes.
What's inside the box
Inside the box is an instruction manual, remote bass control... and extension cable, hardware, extra 50 amp fuses, and monoblock amplifier.
Specs
This is a versatile monoblock amplifier because it can operate in 1 ohm, 2 ohm or 4 ohm loads. Blaupunkt claims that this monoblock amplifier puts out 1000W RMS @ 4 ohms, 2000W RMS @ 2 ohms and 2800W RMS @ 1 ohms. With a price tag under $150, if those specs are accurate, that’s one hell of a deal in terms of cost per watt. But 2800W RMS @ 1 ohm, I’d be shocked if it hit that.
Connections/Adjustments
The AMP4000D has a single set of RCA inputs to connect directly to your head unit with a set of RCA cables, or with a line output converter. For adjustments it has gain control, variable 0 - +18dB bass boost, variable 0 - 180 degree subwoofer phase and a variable 50 Hz to 250 Hz low pass filter. Connect the included remote bass control to its input to adjust bass levels up front.
Blaupunkt included three built-in 50 amp fuses, as well as large speaker and ground terminals. We recommend a minimum of 1/0 gauge power and ground leads. Check out our amplifier installation kits online, link in bio.
Dimensions
Dimensions of the amplifier are 2.2” in height, 12.5” in length and 7.4” in width.

Car amplifier installation
We show you the complete process of installing a Pioneer Double DIN car stereo in a Chevy truck. The in-depth video shows the installation of the interface, and steering wheel control.
Amplifier Installation basics
Let's start with the basics of adding or installing a car amplifier. First you will need to plan your installation and power wiring, this usually is the most difficult part of the installation for most.
How to choose the proper wire size explained
What size power wire do I need for my amplifier? Well, that depends on the length of the wire and the power consumption of the amplifier. We walk you through how to choose the right gauge wire and wire material depending on your amplifier installation requirements.
How to wire speakers and subwoofers to your new amplifier
In our third video we demonstrate the various ways you can wire speakers and amplifiers to all types of amplifiers. There different ways to do this depending on the type of amplifier you choose to purchase.
What is gain? How do I set it properly?
In our fourth video we demonstrate how to set the gains on your amplifier to prevent damage to your speakers, subwoofers and even possibly your new amplifier. Using a portable oscilloscope we show you how to set your gains.
