Our testing and analysis of the Jensen CMR2720
Not everyone can ball out on a system, but that doesn’t mean you can’t upgrade the headunit of your vehcile on a budget. If you’re looking for something with just the basics for under $150, take a look at the Jensen CMR2720. This thing isn’t going to blow your hair back with features, but it has everything you really need, Bluetooth, USB, touchscreen display, and more. Stay tuned at the end of the video for our power testing.
What's inside the box
Inside the box is an owner’s manual, wiring harness, hardware, and double din headunit with an optional trim panel pre-installed.
Rear Connections
The rear connections include wiring harness, RCA pre-amp outputs for front and rear plus two for subwoofers, RCA AV Inputs, Backup camera, front camera, video output and radio antenna.
Display
After booting this up we get a look at the 7” display which is not HD and not a capacitive touchscreen. Both L’s. But the 1024x600 resolution is better than the usual 800x480 and gets us close to 720p. The OS is a bit mundane, but it gets the job done. And the touchscreen could be a bit unresponsive at times.
The front of the display features a source button, rotary dial, seek commands, a micro SD Card slot, 3.5mm AUX input, and USB port. This unit does not have a disc slot. The radio tuner features 30 station presets, 18 FM and 12 AM.
Bluetooth/Tuner
Bluetooth allows hands free calling and wireless music streaming. This unit does not have a disc slot. The radio tuner features 30 presets, 18 FM, 12 AM.
USB Audio/Video/JPEG Playback
With a USB thumb drive the stereo is compatible with MP3, MP4, and FLAC files. Playback via the USB port with a smartphone does not work, but it will charge your device and you cna playback bluetooth for audio at the same time.
Screen Mirroring
It is possible to screenmirror a device to the CMR2720 with its RCA AV inputs. All you would need is one of our mirroring kits for iPhone or Android. I'll put a link for both options in the video bio below. This will effectively get anything you want onto your stereo, youtube, netflix, HBO, tinder, whatever. Be aware that this is a safety hazard.

Wiring Harnesses Explained
What do all of the wire colors mean? Aftermarket manufacturers have made car stereo receiver installation an easier process by using a standardized wire color scheme. We walk you through what each individual wire does, this way if you have an installation that doesn't perform properly you will have the resources to begin troubleshooting your installation.
Simple radio Installation
