DISCONTINUED - Pioneer GM-D8601 1,600 Watt Class D Mono Amplifier with wired bass boost control
- 1,600 Watts Max Power
- Pulse Width Modulated MOSFET Power supply
- Compact Design for Versatile Installation Options without compromising sound quality, Efficient Class-D digital amplifiers are 50% smaller that the Pioneer GM-Series amplifiers.
- Improved Protection circuit senses internal temperature and automatically lowers input level to prevent heat damage. Stability circuitry allows connection to 1 ohm subwoofer systems which allows connection of large or multiple subwoofers.
- Variable Low Pass filters allow you to adjust the playback frequencies from 40Hz to 240Hz
- Wired remote bass control allows you to adjust the level of bass
- Speaker level inputs allow you to connect this amplifier stereo system that do not have RCA outputs. The is very typical for OEM head-units and you can now avoid adding separate line level converters.
- Remote turn on by auto signal sense, so you do not need to run a remote turn on lead with OEM head-units
- Bridge mode allows to run this as a three channel or two channel amplifier
- 2 channel RCA inputs accepts up to 6.5 volt input signals
- RCA Pass through outputs to connect multiple amplifiers in series
- Bass boost 0-18dB
- Gold plated screw terminal connections for Power Inputs and Speaker level outputs
- Continuous Power Output (1 Ω, ≤ 1% THD+N): 800 W x 1
- Continuous Power Output (2 Ω, ≤ 1% THD+N): 500 W x 1
- Continuous Power Output (4 Ω, ≤ 1% THD+N): 300 W x 1
- Frequency Response: 10Hz to 240Hz
- Total Harmonic Distortion (4 Ω): < 0.5% (1kHz)
- Signal-to-Noise Ratio (IHF-A Weighted, at 1 kHz): >100dB
- Dimensions: 10 3/8" (W) x 2 3/8" (H) x 7 7/8" (D)

Pioneer is widely recognized as one of the top car audio manufacturers out there. They were one of the first company's to start doing it, and today they're still making some of the best gear you can buy! Like their extra efficient GM-Series Class D amplifiers. These digital amps mark a dramatic improvement in power output despite being 50% smaller than Pioneer's GM-Series AB amplifiers.
GM-D Series are highly rated and surprisingly powerful amps that hit harder than you expect. Just like my mom. If you don't believe me ask our customers. (GM-D9601) Angelo said, "This amplifier could power a city it has so much power..." he's using it on two 15's! Lawdogg said, "This is a monster amp. Never gets hot and pounds..."(GMD-8604) Johnnie said, "Very small and packs a punch..." There are 5 models in the Pioneer GM-Series Class D Amps. The only 5 channel is the GM-D9605, which has a max power of 2,000 watts. The 4 channels include the GM-D8604 Class FD with a max power of 1,200 watts, and the compact GM-D1004 whose max is 400 watts. The monoblocks include the GM-D9601 with a beastly max power of 2,400 watts, and the GM-D8601 which pumps out 1,600 Watts max. Max power is flashy and looks cool, but lets get more relistic and talk RMS output. The GM-D9605 runs 200 Watts by 2 channels at 4-ohms, or 75W at 4 channels and 350W to a sub at 4 ohms. The GM-D8604 runs 100W by 4 channels at 4ohms, and 300W by 2 channels bridged. The GM-D1004 runs 45W by 4 channels at 4ohms and 90W
by 2 channels at 2 ohms. The GM-D9601 runs 1,200W at 1ohm and 500W at 4ohm. And the GM-D8601 runs at 800 watts at 1ohms and 400 watts at 4ohms.
And all 5 look great, I dig the design of the GM-DSeries amps, they're sharp. Pioneer has gone with a carbon fiber-ish look popular in super cars. Still pretty cool.
So what gives these amps the power that makes them so adored by their benefactors? Pioneer's new circuit Protection Control System senses its internal temperature and automatically moderates input level accordingly. This enhances flexibity to connect multiple subwoofers to your system. Speaker level inputs simplify integration into existing aftermarket or factory head units.
The GM-D amps feature inputs and controls for Bass Boost, Crossover Frequency Selector, HPF LPF, Gain Control, Sub Channel and slope, RCA daisy chain outputs, and speaker level input.
The connections include Power, ground, remote terminals, subwoofer output, and speaker outputs. Every Class-D monoblock amplifier comes with a wired bass boost remote for optimal bass adjustments.
